C.J. Ortuño - CJ Ortuno was the Director of Development for Hands On Miami, a nonprofit social entrepreneur organization that builds community by engaging people in over 100 monthly volunteer action projects. He was responsible for raising the funds necessary for Hands On Miami’s 2 million dollar budget. This was accomplished by building sustainable partnerships with individuals, corporations, government agencies, and foundations to help create synergistic solutions to community problems in the form of cash contributions. Prior to his current position, he accelerated profit in a 2.5 million dollar territory for the Sherwin-Williams Paint Company, where he was considered for the Rookie Salesman of the Year award. The first to achieve a college degree in his family, he graduated from Florida International University with a Batchelor of Arts degree in History. He then traveled through several European countries including Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, and the United Kingdom for almost two years.
Raised in Miami, Florida, CJ now lives on South Beach with his wife and 5-month-old daughter. As a graduate from the 2008 Leadership Miami Class, he led a project that created an economic development software program for the City of Miami. He was recently invited to sit on the Advisory Board of the Zen Village, a nonprofit organization committed to teaching the ways of eastern philosophy to the west through workshops, seminars, and retreats. His passion and dedication to the public sector has benefited children, the environment, and the disadvantaged. He lives by a simple philosophy and is often heard saying, “listen to understand and not to respond.”
CJ is now the Executive Director of SAVE a political advocacy group that works towards equality and justice for our gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender community members. |

Joseph Mooradian - Was an internationally recognized dancer/actor for nearly 20 years. In that time he traveled and performed extensively across the United States and Europe appearing at some of the most prestigious theaters such as Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the Spoletto Festival in Italy, and more locally the Naples Philharmonic, the Broward Center and the Jackie Gleason Theatre. Throughout his career Joseph has championed labor and worker’s rights. He also has been very proactive with many charitable groups including various animal rights organizations, Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS as well as several individual projects that he created such as Christmas for the children of St. Aloysius Orphanage in Cincinnati, OH. Joseph and his partner Patricks of 15 years moved to Miami in 2003 after spending a week here on vacation and finding the residents so friendly. Since that time he has volunteered every year for the Winter Party Festival and was their Volunteer Coordinator for the 2008 festival wherein he was responsible for recruiting and managing over 600 volunteers. Joseph is now thrilled and proud to be a part of SAVE Dade and the tremendous work they do locally and statewide in gaining equality for the LGBT community.
